The 2020 Oscar Nominations are In!

The 2020 Academy Award nominations were announced this morning!

(Forewarning, I’ll try my best not to, but some of my opinions will be in here. Sorry!)

To no surprise, the dark drama “Joker” is leading the list with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor in a Leading role (Joaquin Phoenix, which let’s be honest, he’ll win).

Other nominations for Best Picture include Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood”, Scorsese’s “The Irishman”, “Little Women”, “1917”, “Marriage Story”, “Jojo Rabbit”, “Ford v Ferrari” “Parasite” and “Little Women”.

This year, women were snubbed from any nominations in the directing category. (What?? Greta Gerwig did an amazing job on “Little Women”!!)

Joining Joaquin on the Best Actor list is Adam Driver, Jonathan Pryce, Antonia Banderas, and Leonardo DiCaprio (insert a million heart-eye emojis here).

For Best Actress in a Leading Role, the nominated actresses are Cynthia Erivo, Scarlett Johansson, Saoirse(SER-SHA) Ronan, Renée Zellweger, and Charlize Theron.

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony will air February 9 on ABC, and once again, there will be no host. 🙁

I’m already so excited! Oscars night is like a mini holiday for me. What movies are you rooting for this year?
