Steve Williams: We’re with Dr. Pete Roy in the Mount Nittany Medical Minute. Dr. Roy, thanks for joining us today.

Dr. Roy: Thank you.

Steve Williams: The Sieg Neuroscience Center – it’s now open. Dr. Roy, what is the Sieg Neuroscience Center?

Dr. Roy: The Sieg Neuroscience Center is a state-of-the-art facility offering diagnosis and treatment of various conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system, including sleep disorders. This spacious facility has been designed with the patient and community needs in mind. It is a convenient and comfortable environment where experts from Centre County and beyond collaborate to care for patients.

Steve Williams: Can you talk about the types of treatment that will be provided by the Sleep Management Program?

Dr. Roy: Physicians specializing in sleep medicine help patients find the cause of and determine appropriate treatment for sleep disorders that impact daily life. Our board-certified physicians can help with sleep disorders ranging from daytime drowsiness and restless leg syndrome to sleep apnea and narcolepsy. Using state-of-the-art equipment and large, private patient rooms, our physicians and specially trained technicians work to diagnose and treat sleep disorders to help each patient get back to sleeping well.

Steve Williams: In terms of neurology, how will the Sieg Neuroscience Center treat community members?

Dr. Roy: Mount Nittany Physician Group’s board-certified neurologists use specialized diagnostics to treat a variety of conditions of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system including migraines, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, dementia, epilepsy and more.
