Saturday 8-10am

Join the award-winning Kid Kelly for a trip to the 90’s…when we all partied like it was 1999!  You’’ hear the cream of the crop from a great musical decade, including artist interviews, tour info, and stories about the songs you remember so well….It all adds up to a great Saturday morning visit to 3WZ.

The Mike Harvey Show
Saturday 6pm-12am

At the age of 10, Mike Harvey’s passion was RADIO. Filing records at his local station and building his first “illegal” radio station in his bedroom (the neighbors’ complaints shut him down in just a few days) was just the beginning of Mike’s career! Anxious to hear more “rock & roll music,” Mike built his own receiver by stringing a “spider web” of copper antenna wire throughout the neighborhood roofs and tree-tops. It worked! And his ingenuity allowed Mike to receive music from distant rock & roll stations throughout the country where now-famous disk jockeys influenced him.

On his 16th birthday, Mike received his Radio Operator’s License, and that same day, applied to the local radio station for a disk-jockey job…. and became “The Teen Time” DJ after school…. for a whopping $20/week!

Those days and that salary are gone, of course….but Mike’s forte remains his on-air delivery and content.  3WZ is proud to include The Mike Harvey Saturday Night All-Request Party in its all-star weekend lineup.  The show airs LIVE Saturday night from 6-midnight, and includes requests.

Absolutey 80’s with Nina Blackwood
Sunday 6-9pm

Her voice and face are instantly recognizable as the iconic representative of rock and roll at a time when music was fun, and changed the world. As MTV’s very first VJ, NINA BLACKWOOD became the symbol of all things hip and culturally on-point for a whole generation who looked to her as the final word on rock knowledge and history.

After five wildly successful years as the face of MTV, NINA signed an unprecedented dual show contract with Paramount Television, anchoring both her own weekly “Rock Report” on Entertainment Tonight, and co-hosting TV’s award winning show “Solid Gold.” Her popularity led to appearances on Britain’s top TV network the BBC, as well as European and American network television and film appearances including “Live Aid,” “The British Phonograph Awards,” “The Monteux Rock Festival” and “Farm Aid.”

In 1999, NINA’s nationally syndicated radio program “Absolutely80s” went on the air, kicking off major new interest in both the music and lifestyle of the ‘80s. The hit show is still distributed by United Stations Radio Networks.

Eggnog French Toast

Eggnog seems like one of those things that you either love or hate. I, for one, love it! It's always been a tradition in my house that when we setup the Christmas tree, we play Christmas music and drink our favorite Eggnog. I never thought of incorporating eggnog into other recipes, though.

When a sweet treat is as fun to make as it is to eat… you’re onto a winner. We found this delicious and simple recipe that is so much fun to make with the kids. You’re literally melting chocolate, spreading it out, and creating fun reindeer faces. Make sure the kids wash their little hands first because this recipe calls for lots of finger licking.

Jingle Bell Toss

You have a house full of friends and family, the snacks and drinks are depleting faster than anticipated, the crowd grows restless... what do you do??? Whip out the games!!! Here's a fun game that you can make yourself out of things you may already have lying around. Plastic cups act as the baskets. Bells act as the balls. You could improvise of course. Why not use Hershey's Kisses as the ball and make that the prize for the winner.
Snowman Soup

Snowman Soup

Looking for a great gift for the classroom, friends or co-workers? All you need are some Styrofoam cups, a few craft supplies, marshmallows and some hot cocoa mix. Use the crafts to make a snowman face on the cup and then fill it with marshmallows and hot cocoa for a festive cup full of snowman soup.
Cocoa for a Snowy Night

Cocoa for a Snowy Night

One of my favorite things to drink around the holidays is hot cocoa. There's something about the warmth of the mug and the creaminess of the chocolate that makes me feel really cozy all over. But, I can't get just any cocoa. Sure, there are some instant versions that will do the trick, but I'm a "make-it-from-scratch" kind of girl. And it MUST be topped with marshmallows!
